Mission Statement
The mission of the Special Troops Brigade, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, "Spartans," is to, on order, execute combat support operations (C4I) to provide urban strike capabilities, situational awareness, and a common operating picture to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division during all phases of tactical operations in Southwest Asia. It is also prepared to transition and execute combat support operations in the Republic of Korea. It would then, on order, redeploy to home station to prepare for future offensive operations. By providing intelligence, signal, military police, and Nuclear-Biological-Chemical (NBC) reconnaissance recon capabilities at brigade level, the Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team plays a valuable role supporting the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.
