Mission statement
The 2nd Battalion of the 340th Regiment is a multi-component training support battalion. The Stalker Battalion's mission is to provide training assistance, support, and evaluation to Reserve/National Guard Component CS/CSS units in order to enhance individual and unit provide combat support, combat service support and survive during sustained combat operations. The Stalker battalion headquarters is located in Louisville Kentucky and is comprised of nine subordinate teams and a Headquarters and Headquarters Company. The majority of Soldiers assigned to the Stalker Battalion serve as Observer/Controller/Trainer/Mentors, with the primary mission to deploy to a training site and observe, control, teach and mentor individual Soldiers and Units prior to and/or during Mobilization. This battalion is made up of Soldiers from the Active Component, The United States Army Reserve, and The Army National Guard. We also have Soldiers serving with us from the Operation Warrior Trainer program providing relevant and real time experience in the training we provide. Our Combat Support teams consist of three engineer specific, and one military police/chemical/signal team. Our Combat Service Support teams include three logistic support teams and one medical team. We also maintain an Opposing Force team. The majority of Military Occupation Specialties are represented within our battalion. The Stalker Battalion does not differentiate between components; we are all Soldiers adhering to the Army Standards.
