602nd Aviation Support Battalion

The mission of the 602nd Aviation Support Battalion is to provide aviation and ground field maintenance, replenishment of all classes of supplies, and medical support for the Combat Aviation Brigade, and, on order, deploy to war in order to sustain the Combat Aviation Brigade during aviation operations. Prior to the transformation of the 2nd Infantry Division under the Army's new modular force structure and the reorganization of US forces in Korea, the mission of the 602nd Aviation Support Battalion was to provide logistical support to the 2nd Infantry Division's Aviation Brigade, but remained assigned to the Division Support Command (DISCOM).
